Here are some fun pics of Liam taken over the past few months that show just how busy this boy has been. He is also quick as he runs away from the camera saying, "Wait!" but then doesn't actually come back. I was lucky to capture these pics.
It seems that our little Liam is showing an interest in music. After Church is over and he is all done in in Nursery, he walks over to the piano in the Relief Society room and starts "playing". Nothing would please his grandma more than to be able to teach piano to her littlest grandson, but since grandma and grandpa are all the way down in Australia, this photo will have to do.
Don't worry grandma, we will do what we can to get him some piano lessons.
This is Liam just before bedtime wearing daddy's winter hat saying "catch me if you can". (Jan. 2009)
Getting that boy into bed is quite a struggle. He knows the drill and will even help me get things ready. Lately, though, he has added one more element to his bedtime routine. He grabs however many toys he can hold on to and carries them all to bed with him. As he walks back and forth grabbing more, I walk right behind him putting most it, if not all, back. Then, I quickly turn the lights off. Once he is finally settled in bed, he starts with the singing and then the humming until finally he tires himself out from all the monkeying around.

Here he is chatting with Abuelita (Jan. 2009). He loves walking around the apartment with the phone. His conversations are usually quite animated as he can be seen walking in and out of every room shaking his head and waving his arm around. Since he likes to wave his arms around so much while talking, we have concluded it is not just a baby thing, but an Italian/Latino thing.
This is Liam wearing mommy's hat and gloves and all "ready" to go bye-bye. (Feb. 2009) On several occasions throughout the day, he decides he has had enough of being between four walls and so he takes either his little blue backpack or just about anything else with a handle, puts his hat on and says bye bye. He comes over to me and kisses me in the cheek and waves as he walks over to the door. Sometimes, he will just walk away and not turn back and just says bye bye blowing me a kiss (but not in my direction) while "on his way out". Mommy doesn't like when he doesn't come over to plant a really good one on the cheek.
Here he is trying to figure out how to turn the TV on. (Feb. 2009) -Maybe trying to be master of the remote? I think NOT! His favorite show is Sesame Street, of course, and his favorite character is Elmo. Since he now forgoes his morning nap, he watches his "babies" video. It is an educational video that helps him to familiarize himself with words. I have cut back on playing his favorite Juno Baby videos for him since I want him to really give the word videos a fighting chance. If it is a rainy or bitter cold day, he will on rare occasions sit with me to watch Rachael Ray or Martha Stewart while he plays with his blocks or cars. I say rare occasions because if it is not to his liking he will simply turn the TV off. Though this really annoys mommy, I am pleased he turns the TV off on his own. (Good boy, Liam!)
Here he is making music (Feb. 2009). Since Liam's father and paternal grandparents are professionally trained musicians, it is highly possible that Liam is musically inclined, or so we hope. He was given a "Band in a Box" by some dear friends for his first birthday. Whenever music plays, even if it is a commercial, he will run over to his "Band in a Box" and pick up either the tambourine, maracas, clappers, triangle, cymbals, egg shakers, or kazoo to play along with the music. (The egg shakers, kazoo and a clapper were added on to his "Band in a Box".) He also loves to do a grand finale after singing a song. He holds the last note and raises his arms up. I would expect no less from the grandson of a conductor! After he is all done with the song, he even congratulates himself by saying, "Yay"! Hilarious!
His favorite songs to sing or hum are (in o particular order, of course): Sesame Street theme song, Elmo's World theme song, Juno Baby, My Heavenly Father Loves Me, I Am a Child of God, and Jeopardy (or "Japa" as he likes to call it). Yes, mommy likes to watch Jeopardy, so Liam has now learned the theme song. The funny thing about it is since the song doesn't have any lyrics, he sort of "makes them up". Words he has used to "sing" the Jeopardy theme song are: Daddy, Mommy, tica (don't know if I am allowed to explain that one), pizza, waffle, and of course "Japa" (for Jeopardy).
