A Happy Independence Day

I'm sure the fireworks display was spectacular, but we chose this year to keep things simple and as close to Liam's schedule as possible. We took a leisurely stroll during the afternoon along the Brooklyn Heights promenade with Abuelita, ran around the nearby playground for a couple of hours, and then enjoyed watching Liam as he ate his first ice cream cone solo. What a spectacle!

Hope you enjoyed your 4th of July holiday, my darling boy!

One-on-one time with Abuelita

Abuelita has made a couple of trips these past two weeks to visit us. We love how he calls her "Welita" in that sweet little voice of his. We also think it is absolutely darling that he calls her mode of transportation "Welita's ses-e-ride" meaning, the Access-a-Ride minibus from the NYC's MTA. Here he is having a little rest with Abuelita.

Here they are a couple of days later sharing a tender moment
(while sporting their Klean Kanteen water bottles)

All smiles!

Notice Liam's new haircut. He really needed a trim, especially in front, but Mommy went a little scissor happy and took way too much off the front. Sorry, my precious boy. As far as the dreaded look of the sandals with socks, that was entirely Liam's idea and he insisted on walking out of our apartment looking like that.

Thanks for coming to visit, "Welita"!
