Crocus
Spring has sprung, but you wouldn't know it from the snow and sleet we got just a couple of days ago. Thankfully the snow didn't stick and these little beauties that popped up all over our backyard stood defiantly. -As we have!
These cute little flowers are a happy reminder that it is almost a year since we've bought this house. I also see them as little rewards for having survived a long brutal winter here. Believe me when I say that we all breathe a collective sigh of relief for having endured such a harsh winter and this fixer-upper we happily live in, and the fact that the weather will, without a doubt, start warming up. We can't wait to get to work on our backyard.

The squeaky wheel gets the oil
How nice it is to be able to finally throw the coat and snow boots back into the closet in exchange for the hooded sweater. This one particular Spring morning we took the tricycle out to run errands around our neighborhood. Liam needed to run an important errand of his own. He squeaked, I mean, peddled all the way down to our local hardware store. The freshly oiled wheels on his tricycle made running errands a lot more bearable to say the least.

Spring fun
Well, Spring has finally sprung and that means more afternoons at our favorite playground. We like this particular playground because of its proximity to the shore. It's nice and spacious and the views of the bay are fantastic. When it's Fleet Week here in NYC, you get to see the naval ships go by blowing their horns in salute to our wonderful city. And the afternoon breezes in the summer are just the best!
One afternoon we ran into some dear friends while at this playground. While Liam always manages to have a blast at the playground, he would tell you that there's nothing better than going down the slide together with a couple of your best buddies.
