Easter at Welita's house

This year, Easter landed on a very special weekend for us. It coincided with General Conference. We spent most of Saturday here at home viewing the talks on our computer. Then we spent Easter Sunday at Welita's house also viewing General Conference. ("Welita" is my mother's nickname given to her by Liam.) Welita gets the BYU channel, so we got to watch conference and a very interesting documentary on the Mormon Tabernacle Choir (about their 2009 tour of some U.S. central states) in between sessions. Like most other LDS families this day, we performed our little Easter egg hunt in between sessions. I inserted SunDrops (what we call the all natural alternative to "M&Ms"), one in each egg, making the full dozen. I figured 12 chocolate candies was enough for my little guy, especially since he had other chocolate goodies coming his way. I also prepared four bonus eggs that were larger than the dozen eggs we hid. These were also hidden and were meant for Welita, Daddy, Liam and Mama. Each one contained a full-sized, caramel-filled Cadbury egg, a Cella chocolate-covered cherry and a couple of chocolate coins. Yummy! His Easter toy surprises were a couple of small animal sets, one with a Steve Irwin action figure, that we picked up from Australia back in December 2008.

We hope everyone's Easter was as fun and inspiring as ours.
